From the 1284 m high Schauinsland (near Freiburg) you can except the surrounding Black Forest mountains u. valleys also see Vosges, Jura and the Alps! With a very good view even the Mont Blanc! From the mountain station to the summit (tower) is about half an hour on foot. Very impressive and relaxing cultural and natural landscape.

The second highest peak after the Feldberg (1493 m) is the Herzogenhorn (1415 m), followed by the Belchen (1414 m) in third place ;-)
The Seebuck, at 1448 m, is considered a subsidiary peak of the Feldberg.
After the 1400-meter peaks, there are several 1300-meter peaks like Stübenwasen, Silberberg, Spießhorn, etc.
So there are still a few before the Schauinsland.

But what's interesting: Since the Schauinsland is part of the Freiburg urban area, Freiburg is the only city in Germany with a difference in elevation of over 1000 meters within the city limits :-)
