All water flows from here to the North Sea. It feeds three rivers that shape our landscapes via three different routes: the Elbe to its mouth near Hamburg, the Weser to Bremerhaven, and the Rhine with one of its estuaries near Hook of Holland. As a triple watershed, this point is unique in Germany.

The legend and fairy tale trail on the Rennsteig leads to places where special legends and fairy tales have played or may have played. It begins on the heights of the Rennsteig and leads into river valleys over meadows, into wetlands and back to the Rennsteig. Lovingly designed panels not only tell the fairy tales, but also show the old tradition of painting in the Thuringian Forest.
