The mystical cloud forest of the Orotava Valley is characterized by the moss that hangs like green tinsel in the branches of the trees. It speaks for an extremely high air quality, as the moss only grows when the air is not polluted. Because of the topography of Tenerife there is almost always fog at this altitude, the trees are also called cloud milkers.

The route from bus stop El Velo to the top is definitely worth it, even partly in the clouds, unfortunately we had to break off the 2nd part of the loop. All paths are missing and this is really very dangerous... So top 1st part and ok if you take the same way back
