The Evangelical Lutheran Church was built in 1643 and has the largest number of parishioners. The hall church based on the Dutch model is located directly on the Mittelburgwall. The construction of their tower proved to be a real challenge. The soft ground could hardly support the heavy tower, which is why it was finally erected on granite ashlars of a demolished lock. The painting above the altar was made by Rembrandt's student Jürgen Ovens. It shows the lamentation of Christ.

The aisle church based on the Dutch model dates from 1643 to 1649, the west tower from 1657 in its current form as well as the tower dome from 1762. The church consists mostly of mopping - a Dutch, slightly smaller variant of the brick, which is less used on moving surfaces tears easily. Only the facing masonry is yellow. Sandstone is built into the windows, wall corners and the south portal. Three bells hang in the bell tower, the oldest originally comes from the church in Königsbüll on Alt-Nordstrand, which was destroyed in the Burchardi flood in 1634, the two younger ones from 1963. The construction of the tower itself was delayed mainly because of the soft subsoil that formed the heavy tower can hardly bear. On the south and west sides, granite blocks were built in front of the building to compensate for the weight, which came from a lock that was demolished in 1630. Wikipedia
