It's not an ideal sandy beach, bathing shoes are very helpful. But it is very nice here and, if you take a few steps, quiet. Right on the steep bank you can find shady spots in the forest area when the sun is steep, so something for people who don't like sizzling in the sun.

The forest near Katharinenhof extends right up to the cliffs, almost blending into the sea. The waves crash against the large boulders and shape the beach, creating a truly unique experience.

The second group of figures by Gerd R. Kirsch was ceremoniously unveiled in June 2014 on the coastal cycle path on Gahlendorfer Strand. If you take a seat there, you can enjoy the sunrise and watch the sea during the day. "I hope that many people passing by will look at this work of art and sit down with them," said Gerd R. Kirsch on the occasion of the official inauguration, attended by Mayor Otto-Uwe Schmiedt, Fehmarn's then Director of Tourism, Maik Schwartau, and many other guests had come. Gerd Kirsch was able to realize his idea with the support of Metallbau Grebien, master painter Frank Saupper and the Fehmarn Tourist Service.
