The Napf can be reached on foot from two cantons: one from the canton of Bern and the other from the canton of Lucerne. Extensive, varied and well-marked hiking trails are characteristic features of the Napf area. Neither car roads nor cable cars lead to the Napf. Once you have reached the summit, you can enjoy the unique beauty of the Bernese Alps. On a clear day you can see the Jura, see beyond the Lucerne hinterland and see the Aargau.
The most popular and shortest ascent options that can be reached by car are from the Bern region in the Mettlenalp. From the Lucerne region in the Ei, Wiggernhütte, Holzwege, Bramboden and Niederänzi.

Sensational views in all four directions. Nice mountain restaurant as you know it. A little more special, however, because everyone who wants to go up there has to hike there. No train, no road.

Restaurant is simple and was unfortunately only open in self-service. The staff was very dedicated and did a great job. The food was great, had salad with pork steak and would gladly recommend it. Steak fried to the point.

Top Restaurant? Many see that differently .... They are usually very unfriendly and inflexible. I would recommend the view to enjoy and then stop in the Stächelegg. Since they are really friendly, the view is great and no matter if dry meat, cheese, smoked sausages - everything was delicious!

A classic. the bowl There are many starting points to get there. My choice is the Mettlenalp. From there, a short, somewhat steep ascent or a flatter path leads up to the Napf in an arc. Pay attention to the hiking trail signs and choose the route accordingly.
