Wonderful palace complex. Augusta Sybilla's summer residence is always worth a trip. But the facility is very busy. Better to visit on weekdays.

Sibylla Augusta was the widow of Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm, who ruled between 1677 and 1707. He built Rastatt Castle. After his death she took over the rule and rounded off the residential town with additional structures. This included the porcelain palace called Favorite. Many facets of the Baroque decor have been preserved here, from the characteristic blue and white tiles to the magnificent apartments. Unusually decorated floors, wall decorations and textiles make this palace a real treasure trove.
While the palace remains an example of the Baroque style, the garden was redesigned in the late 18th / early 19th centuries. The idyllic landscaped garden-style grounds are still the perfect place to relax. Whether by the swan pond or taking a walk past the old trees, the park has something to offer in every season!

Small reservoir that feeds the gardens of the park. Nice to sit here in the sunshine and watch the ducks.
