A really great spot in the middle of the forest. It used to be a raftsman's pond. Today it is an ideal place to take a break. Absolutely idyllic! We were surprised by the depth of almost three meters.

The lonely artificial body of water south of the Kahleberg, also known as the Alter or Schwarzer Teich, has been storing water from the source veins of the Grosses Warmbach since the 16th century and used to increase the water flow of this stream and the Wild Weisseritz when wooden rafts were made. It is absolutely idyllic and wonderfully situated, lonely in the middle of the forest and is suitable as a break point. The pond is an ideal place to unwind. A wooden bench invites you to sit and linger.

The artificial forest lake "Wüster Teich" is located south of the Kahleberg. It is very mystical to look at, especially in the autumn months when there is thick fog. You can watch how the dense Bohemian side pushes through the forests and pulls over the water surface of the small hidden forest lake. But the idyllically located pond in the middle of the forest is also an ideal place for a rest in spring and summer.

The "Wüster Teich" has existed since the 16th century and was previously used by the timber rafters, for the water inflow of the small brook and the Wild Weisseritz. Especially on hot days you will find a pleasant cooling down in the middle of the forest.

If you want to explore the "Wüster Teich" with your cross-country skis in winter, you can follow the L4 circular trail and you will find the Waldsee at the crossroads of Gabelweg and Teichweg.

Even in summer, it is recommended to admire the wonderful ice crystals right on the frozen lake in winter. The works of art that nature produces here are simply wonderful. There are needles on the branches, as if it were a coniferous plant, although everything is just ice. ....and that glitter in the sun...
