The original Wassermannweg was not short because it went all the way to the Schanerloch water intake.
That was a short connection from the Schanerloch to the Ebensand compensation reservoir.

(The water is collected at the "Schanerloch", where it is diverted via a nearly two-kilometer-long headrace tunnel to the equalizing reservoir and then fed to the powerhouse via the approximately 450-m-long penstock. Electricity is generated by two sets of Pelton turbines.

The path still exists, of course, and we (the Dorabirar family) walked it recently.
You don't necessarily have to cross the rope bridge, because it's a daring one afterwards

We know the one who made this path passable again and therefore also know this entrance behind the rope bridge.
Since the path keeper had a serious accident there years ago and can no longer maintain the path himself, we don't know if this path is still maintained by anyone.
