A really beautiful place with an extreme view over the Nuremberg area and facing west. The Glatzenstein is ideal for watching one or two wonderful sunsets.

Fantastic view of the fortress Rothenberg, the Hetzles / Lindelberg, Moritzberg, into the Pegnitztal up to Nuremberg with good view.
The rock formation of the Glatzenstein is famous.

A really nice view!
The tour itself is good to walk. For our conditions a pleasant length. Already a good climb, but with variety. It goes a lot through the forest. The more beautiful the view from the Glatzenstein. From here we could also make out the Nuremberg TV tower.
Unfortunately, a lot of archeology is not visible.

The Glatzenstein is a 572 m above sea level. NN high mountain of the Franconian Alb from Jurakalk. It lies predominantly in the municipality of Neunkirchen am Sand.

Nice view but quite crowded (there are at nice WE at any time at least 15 people and three children).

20 m to the left is a smaller rock and bank, there is not so much going on.

Contrary to the warnings on the information board, the approximately 6 meter deep cave is, in my opinion, easily accessible if you are sure-footed. Some finds from the early Celtic period (around 500 BC) come from the cave.
