Sundby Church dates back to the 12th Century, but was rebuild in the 1790's. You can see the church already from the road, and I always find it a lovely sight to see when I drive home. It towers lightly above the surrounding landscape, and the view is partly hidden by the huge trees surrounding it. But always visible is the church tower, which is white, but with a slightly pink blush over it.
I often include the trail past the church in my evening walks, as it such a lovely walk to make.

The special thing about this sacred building is the rune stone which was embedded in the church wall.
