To the west of the old town, 65 mostly two-story half-timbered houses were built on the mountain of the same name. From the terrace you have a wonderful view of the castle and the old town.

Oh yeah! A city with incredible stories ...

Here are just a little about the city "district" called Münzenberg.
According to archaeological data, Münzenberg was inhabited already in the 5th millennium BC. Its inhabitants of the Neolithic era belonged to the culture of linear-tape ceramics.
In the Middle Ages, the Benedictine abbey of St. Mary. The monastery and church were built during the time of Matilda (the granddaughter of Heinrich Ptitselov) in 968.
The monastery was destroyed during the Peasant War during the Reformation in 1539. The abbey was abandoned and all valuables were transferred to the collegiate church of St. Servatia. Around 1580, the abandoned mountain began to be populated by all sorts of beggars: vagabonds and musicians.
Paradox of history, but now Münzenberg is the most beautiful part of Quedlinburg. All the houses have been renovated, the streets are full of flowers and there is an atmosphere of grace that is not felt in Quedlinburg itself.

The climb up the stairs was very tiring, but once you're at the top, you can only marvel. Small houses beautifully decorated with flowers, just great.
