The top of Tarnica is 1446 meters above sea level, fenced with wooden tiles to avoid the destruction of the grassland by numerous tourists. At the top, there is a large steel cross erected to commemorate the jubilee of the year 2000 and the pontificate of the Polish Pope, according to the inscription on the commemorative plaque. Usually still at that time, Fr. Karol Wojtyła was on Tarnica in 1954 during one of his tourist trips. A beautiful panoramic panorama from the cross. The name of Tarnica is of Romanian origin and means Saddle. Originally it referred to the pass under Czernica. Which when viewed from Wołosate it essentially resembles the silhouette of Saddle. A local legend says that the Wójt Wołosatego offered to King Stefan Batory in wartime need oxen from all the neighboring Połoniny. In return, the king gave the game to Mada Wołosate for the ownership of Połonina around Tarnica and the wide Wierch.

Not too technically demanding ascent to the summit. Lots of facilities such as footbridges and stairs. The fastest way is from the side of Wołosate along the blue trail.
