      Loket Castle or Elbogen has stood on the banks of the Ohře near Karlsbad since the 13th century. The Gothic castle has been an important strategic point for centuries. Today it is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Karlovy Vary region. The admission price is super cheap for what is there to see. I think it costs 8 € for adults.

        Those who like castles and have a trip to West Bohemia should definitely visit Loket. You pay the entrance fee in front of the gate and you can go anywhere yourself, soak up the atmosphere of the old times and no one will watch your time spent there. The castle is also accessible in winter.

                On the banks of the Ohre, on a bend in the river, lies the medieval town and castle of Loket, which probably got its unusual name, which means elbow. The castle with its slender and prism-shaped tower dates back to the 12th century. It has been restored and is open to visitors. The castle became famous not least because of the James Bond film "Casino Royale" with Daniel Craig, which was filmed here in 2006. From the castle, visitors are offered a wonderful and picturesque view of the beautiful surroundings.
