Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Jews: All five world religions have a common place of reflection at the BUGA and after the BUGA in Munich.
The place of world religions, now the place of reflection, should offer visitors to the Federal Horticultural Show the opportunity to pause and get an insight into the different religions. When designing the place, all representatives of the world religions were invited to express their wishes and ideas in order to develop a place that can be used by the individual religions - and also jointly.
The place of reflection was not just a temporary facility, but was also planned to be a place of reflection in the landscape park in the trade fair city of Riem beyond the event period of BUGA 05.
The place of reflection is a circular square with a diameter of around 24 meters, integrated into the green area of the landscape park, south of the bathing lake. The center of the circle is on the line of sight between the old Heilig Blut church in Gronsdorf and the tower of the new church center in Messestadt Riem. The center of the square itself is free.
The center symbolizes the relationship to God as the center of all being. At the same distance from the center, five concrete double braces form the boundary of the square and enclose the space. A block of natural stone, which embodies a world religion, rests on each of the double clasps.
