The first day of the Salkantay Trek takes you high up on Lake Humantay, a turquoise paradise. In front of the towering mountain of the same name, whose gigantic moraines surround the colorful water. Another highlight can be found on one of these stone tongues. A small sales kiosk at 4250 m, whose beer you can hardly resist after the strenuous ascent.
