I was able to go on a guided tour.

It's amazing to see the different flowering plants when you climb up the 1000 meters from the bottom.

In the lower section they've almost completely faded, and the higher you go the same flowers only now open.

Over the last 200 years, nature has made a remarkable effort to reclaim the rubble area, and today we find some remarkable and species-rich forms of vegetation in the landslide area. In addition, there are hardly a handful of comparable places in the Alpine region where you can follow the repopulation of a freshly created site covered only by landslide material so "closely".

The many orchids that occur here are almost atypical for landslide areas. The reason for the abundance of orchids is partly the young age of the site and partly the clay-rich, moist soils.

A common feature of many landslide areas is that they are rich in specialized plants that grow on rock and block sites. Among these are various grasses and sedges, which are also very well represented in the entire area of the Goldau landslide. In addition, robust woody plants, which do not seem to be bothered by the extreme location, are growing, especially in the upper landslide area.
