The inhabitants of Švedriškė belonged to the Kazitiškis parish. After Poland occupied the Vilnius region in 1920, the western part of the parish was left without a church. A temporary chapel was built in the village of Garbšiai. In 1927, the owner of the manor house, Marija Leščiauskienė, donated land with huts to the future church. In 1934, the current wooden church was built. It was a branch of the Salakas parish.
