In addition to the ancient bridges, the presses and the mills you will also find this small oratory with a stone roof like many of the buildings in the Monteossolano area. This area is truly beautiful, worth a break and exploration.

Rochus, born between 1345 and 1350 and died between 1376 and 1379, came from Montpellier, but traveled throughout Europe and took care of plague sufferers. The "black death" hit European countries as early as the 14th century, but it was not until the following century, when the plague was still claiming many victims, that it was universally recognized as the protector of this terrible plague.
The carved, painted and gilded altar (second half of the 17th century) is attributed to Giulio Gualio of Antronapiana. Near the river Dagliano, there are two chapels where people lit a candle and prayed before going on the most dangerous stretch of the valley road

Saint Roch ("San Rocco"), to whom this small sanctuary is dedicated as patron, was born in the French town of Montpellier in the middle of the 14th century. He is popularly regarded as the "plague saint" - alongside Saint Sebastian. A characteristic feature of the depiction of Roch in paintings and as a statue is that he usually points to a plague boil on his leg; a dog can also often be seen at his feet, because according to legend, when he was caring for plague victims, was himself ill with the disease and withdrew into solitude, the dog provided him with bread every day.

The memorial day of San Rocco in the calendar of saints is August 16th.
