You feel immediately on the long drive on the avenue to the main building in the series "torches in the storm" added. Where is Orry Main? The house tour was really well done and very informative even if you do not take pictures and only the ground floor could visit. The tour with the tourist train over forest and meadows was no less impressive. And you have to listen to Julah's story about the life of slaves. We stayed there for 3 hours.
Boone Hall Plantation is one of America's oldest working plantations, continually growing crops for over 320 years. The present hall was reconstructed in 1936. The brick slave homes have been preserved. Many movie productions have taken place here.
We spent a wonderful afternoon at Boone Hall. Both the tour of the house and the wagon ride across the plantation are highly recommended. You should also visit the slave huts to get an impression of the unworthy conditions of the workers at that time. On the other hand, the "Avenue of Oaks" and the horse paddocks impress with their beauty. History with thoroughly mixed feelings and the beauty of nature and the property combine here to create a special mix.
