The Attersee (also Kammersee) is a lake in the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut. With over 46 km² of water surface, it is the largest lake located entirely in Austria, is almost 19 km long and 1.25 to 3.3 km wide. At 169 meters, it is the third deepest lake in Austria and, with a water volume of almost 4 billion m³, surpasses many larger lakes in terms of area. It is rich in fish and a popular diving and sailing area.
