From the Kanonenberge viewpoint you have a beautiful view of the Müggelberge and the Müggelturm. There is enough space for a picnic up here, and campfires are sometimes made here. I've even experienced a magician's and witches' meeting here. During the day it all seemed pretty harmless...
The Kanonenberge is an old disused gravel pit that was actually still used in the German Empire to test cannons and weapons. Bullet casings and other remains could be found there until the 1970s. The valley basin was a large meadow until the late 1980s and is now overgrown.

The rather little-visited Kanonenberg on the western foothills of the Müggelberge lies in the middle of a great mixed forest and offers a great view of the radar station on the Großer - and the lookout tower on the Kleines Müggelberg.
