The cape at the end of the peninsula has a special location*: it closes off the bay of Mont Saint-Michel on the north side and is only connected to the mainland by a rocky isthmus, which was built in the 15th century as part of the defense works a ditch was dug through it, the "Tranchées aux Anglais". The English had fortified the rock in their battle against the Normans, who controlled Mont Saint-Michel.
A walking path that leaves from the harbor near a bunker leads to the rocky outcrop and the lighthouse. From that point you have a beautiful view of the sea and the rocks. Just in front of the lighthouse is a granite monument in memory of the sailors who died at sea.

It is the northern end of the bay of Mont Saint-Michel and the southern end of the coast of Havres. It has a panoramic view of the sea and the city from its location on a hill. It is also a site of historical and military interest, as it has some bunkers from the Atlantic Wall that can be visited. It is also a spot for underwater fishing, as it has a zone of rock and sand that can be explored near high tide
