One of the most beautiful winter sports areas in the Eifel is located on the Schwarzen Mann. About 1.3 km (as the crow flies) northeast of its summit are the mountain stations of two tow lifts at the Zum Schwarzen Mann blockhouse restaurant. There are two 800 m long ski slopes, a toboggan run (450 m) with a lift and a children's toboggan run. If snow conditions and weather permit, two cross-country ski trails (12 and 18 km) are usually groomed through the varied landscape in January and February and cleared over a 5 km long hiking trail in winter.
