The Col du Herrenberg is located on the Route des Crêtes (D430) between Markstein and the Col de la Schlucht below Le Schweisel or Schweiselwasen. The Refuge Ferme Auberge Huss is located there. From there, there is a beautiful westward view into the neighboring Vosges department, the Thur Valley, the village of Wildenstein in the valley, and Lake Kruth-Wildenstein, as well as the Vosges Mountains rising to the west.
