Just outside the city, in the midst of an idyllic meadow landscape, in the lowland area of Soeste lies Lake Wiesensee. Wonderful to walk on solid and on loose ground. For those who just need to catch their breath an oasis.
To supplement this, I add my text, with which I already described the meadow path on Lake Wiesensee years ago;
Wonderfully meandering path along a large meadow landscape and a less large lake, which the Cloppenburgers call the "surfing lake" - whereby it is no longer surfing, but above all, fishing. Partly by human anglers, on the other hand by an increasing population of cormorants. If the lake is frozen, ice bathing enthusiasts - mostly of Russian origin - like to draw attention to their supposed hardness in the local press organs.
As if I had guessed at the creation as a highlight: February 2018 is known that since December 2017 in the Council, the application of an "investor from Vechta" as it always means, if something ugly, (see the construction of the somewhat half-silk Genos GmbH Soeste) is located on the desks, who would like to set up a gastronomic facility in a still to be built "boathouse" at the southern end of the lake. In addition, Mr. Investor is planning a waterskiing facility and in the further course he wants to build a hotel on the lake. How this suggestion will find the neighboring living meadow and waterfowl remains to be seen. I do not hear them trilling with joy.
In summer, there are shady spots on the shore all around the lake that allow some privacy as long as these bays are not occupied by an angler. Really nice there - and so close to the center.
