The Barbarossa spring is a small source at Rodenbach in Vorspessart in Main-Kinzig-Kreis in Hesse. The spring is located in the southeastern Bulau, a larger contiguous forest area east of Hanau. The Barbarossa spring is located in a small basin on the edge of a forest lake, near the border between the Hessian Oberrodenbach and the Bavarian Alzenau, at an altitude of 167 m above sea level. NN. The name Barbarossa Spring does not refer to the lake, as many believe, but to the small spring next to it.
