The castle ensemble is a wonderful place. Several restaurants, a hotel and many events throughout the year make the well-kept castle and its buildings - actually it is a large estate - a popular destination for excursions.

The Gutshaus Diedersdorf (official name in the state monument list Gutshaus mit Taubenhaus) is a listed manor house in Diedersdorf.

Diedersdorf was first mentioned in 1375. At that time there was already a manor, so that there was probably also a manor house. The manor house was built on this (another?) foundation between 1798 and 1800.

There was no significant damage to the building during World War II.

After reunification, a private investor took over the estate and carried out extensive renovation measures. The facade and the balcony were renewed, and the original color scheme was restored with an orange-brown hue. The salons and the hall serve as a restaurant and conference venue in the 21st century; Hotel rooms and apartments are located on the upper floor.

The stables, also built around 1800, have served as a country inn ever since. The Taubenturm, a two-story fieldstone cube with an octagonal half-timbered top from the middle of the 19th century, has also been preserved. Another building, the so-called market hall, was built in 1999 in place of a barn that had been demolished after 1945.

For several years, the estate was the venue for the Musikantenscheune TV show.

Around 1900 there was a lawn with a few trees south of the manor house. In the 21st century, it essentially serves as a beer garden. A few older trees are still present in the south-west, as is a pond. It was restored in 1990.
