The 21,000-square-meter site of the former Henning blacksmith shop hosts presentations and service of vintage and classic cars, mostly from smaller companies. The large blacksmith shop, dating back to 1940, is an incredible location for events, and the brick halls transport you to another era. It feels like you're in Chicago in the 1930s, with Al Capone just around the corner.
There's still a lot to do, but what's particularly nice is that the old buildings have been restored and preserved.

Motorworld Village Metzingen, formerly Motorworld Manufaktur Metzingen, is a real estate project with a multifunctional reuse of the listed building complex of the former Henning Schmiedetechnik company in Metzingen. Plans include a classic car, motorcycle, and auto center, a restaurant, a hotel, and the establishment of retail and service companies and event facilities.
The planned facilities include car and motorcycle dealerships, workshops, specialist businesses, craft businesses, shopping, various service businesses, a car upholstery shop, retail outlets, rented glass boxes, event spaces, several restaurants, and a new V8 hotel.

Some non-listed parts were demolished, and some are to be rebuilt. The street name was changed to "Alte Schmiede" (Old Forge) as part of the redevelopment. The Erms Canal runs through the complex of buildings, and in earlier times, a water wheel operated there. This has been preserved and is on display on the grounds. Part of the canal runs underground beneath the buildings.
