The great thing about it is that the entrance to the Äulegrat begins directly from the parking lot at the Ledi shooting range (Hochquellenstrasse 66, Hohenems, where there is also free parking) and you don't have to walk up the long boring hiking trails first, but instead take a cool one straight from the parking lot Has way to go.

The Äulegrat, as the name suggests, is a ridge path in the forest and requires surefootedness and a head for heights. (This section is only recommended in the upward direction! With the rooty paths, large steps, exposed passage and the slope, it would be crazy to go down here, especially when wet !!)

The subsequent Beppo Steig is secured in the upper part with wire ropes and, as I have learned, the path is also maintained. The entrance is quite overgrown and not that easy to see, but if you look closely you can see the entrance, it leads up the slope to the left after a rainwater channel.

In the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley you would not necessarily expect hiking trails with alpine character directly in the valley, but there are some paths where you can practically enter directly in the valley and can hike practically immediately, as it is normally known only from higher elevations in the mountains.
