Múli is a formerly inhabited village in the Faroe Islands, more precisely on the island of Borðoy, one of the Northern Islands. It is now known as a "👻 ghost town," although the buildings continue to be used as summer and leisure residences. Múli was first settled in the 14th century. It was the last village in the Faroe Islands to be connected to the 🔌 electricity grid, only in 1970. At the beginning of 2007, three people still lived in Múli. The population steadily declined in the following years. The village has been officially uninhabited since 2015. The last permanent residents left the village in 1992. In the case of Múli, a house was even dismantled stone by stone in 1961 and rebuilt in an open-air museum in 🇩🇰Denmark, which underscores the trend toward emigration.
