The largest lake in Nelson Lake National Park, but not quite as spectacular ... There are only short walks on this shore. If you want to do the larger hikes, you have to take the water taxi to the other end. There you can hike on huts and peaks. Currently the path along the lake is closed. As of April 2019.
We had planned a picnic break during the tour of this lake. That looked like a good idea, because the area was ideal for a short hike and was in no way overcrowded with tourists, but after a few minutes it became apparent that the sandflies were attacking us in droves and we fled back into the car. Too bad, but maybe it's better on other days!
