A very nice hike starting from Erjos, always along the mountainside on very wide paths.
Only the last section, about 1km, is a bit steep, rocky and therefore slippery. Hiking poles and sturdy shoes are a must. However, you have to be extremely careful, even very experienced hikers have fallen over there with poles.
In El Palmar, the second restaurant is very well known for its smoked and grilled chicken (1/2 for just under 8 euros with a side dish) - the taste is amazing. Half a liter of wine is about €4.50
Beer is unfortunately very expensive at about €4.00
However, you have to catch one of the two buses to Buenavista del Norte at around 3:20 or 3:35 p.m., otherwise you have to wait 2 hours for the next one.
We left Puerto de la Cruz at 9:00 a.m. on the bus to Erjos. The journey took just over an hour. A nice, leisurely hike of 3 hours. This means you have 1.5 - 2 hours to eat (the restaurant is always very busy and you have to wait a bit for your food)
