Considered one of the most beautiful castles in the Burggrafenamt, built in the 13th century by the Lords of Marling. Very extensive castle complex with late Gothic castle chapel with valuable frescoes, including from the 14th century, picturesque courtyards, French ornamental garden, hall of mirrors in Rococo style, farmer's room with Gothic farmer's furniture, as well as weapons room and knight's hall with a large figure family tree of the Counts of Fuchs - owners of the castle from 1426 until their extinction in 1828 - now owned by the van Rossem van Sinoutskerke family since 1925. Lovingly landscaped gardens with some exotic fauna, romantically winding courtyards are just as enchanting as authentically furnished rooms in various styles - from Gothic to Empire - that are harmonious down to the last detail. Even for discerning connoisseurs of medieval wall paintings, the visit is worthwhile just because of the recently unearthed Gothic frescoes, which are certified to be of high artistic quality. No reservation necessary.
