The Visbeek valley is an enormously valuable and extremely varied nature reserve. Swamp forests, spring-rich meadows, dry and wet heathland,... You will find it all here! The Visbeek is the lifeblood of this typical Kempen stream valley. It goes without saying that it is teeming with life. In this area you will find dozens of special plants. In addition, there are no fewer than thirty species of dragonflies and various rare butterflies. Many bird species find their home in the valley. However, the pearl of this area is still the Adder. This species is only found in one other place in Flanders. In order to give this endangered species the best possible chance, Natuurpunt Lille is working with the municipality of Lille on the 'Adder Plan'. (Municipality of Lille)

The Visbeek valley is one of the most valuable stream valleys in Flanders. You can enjoy a typical Kempen landscape with purple heather, wide sandy roads and flowery grasslands. In wetter places you will find fens, swamp forests and bog myrtle thickets.

Visbeek Valley - Kindernouw is a typical Kempen stream valley, consisting of a series of marshes, forests, heathland, bog myrtle thickets, scrubland, and grasslands. The LIFE Visbeek project, among other initiatives, has restored the area's natural environment to attract even more plants and animals. Come breathe some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful landscapes around you.

You are welcome to come and enjoy the exceptional natural beauty and diverse landscape of the Visbeek Valley.
The area is accessible year-round via roads and paths.
A few benches offer you the opportunity to experience the tranquility.
Some of the walks pass through a grazing area, where you can walk among the grazers. Please do not touch or feed the animals, and keep dogs on a leash at all times.
