Possibility to rest with gastronomy. The Steinerne Renne is a 2.5 km long valley section of the Holtemme southwest of the Hasserode district of Wernigerode that has been designated as a natural monument.

The Holtemme, which has its source on the Brocken massif, has formed a bizarre gorge of granite rock over millions of years, in which numerous waterfalls and rapids can be observed.

The Steinerne Renne is an interesting river and the hiking trail named after it is also very interesting..
It is available in a relatively easy but also difficult version. Good shoes and sure-footedness are required for the difficult variant. The section from the Steinerne Rinne restaurant, the Steinerne Renne waterfalls to the Steinerne Renne train station is particularly recommended. To the right of the river is the difficult variant and to the left is the easy variant!
