The Minorite Church in the town of Tulln on the Danube is a former monastery church and is dedicated to St. John Nepomuk. The origins of the church date back to the time of the Minorite monastery in Tulln, which was founded in 1225, during the lifetime of the order's founder, Francis of Assisi. The original church building with Romanesque and Gothic influences was demolished in 1735, however, after construction of the new church immediately south of it began, which was completed within the short period between 1732 and 1739. The consecration took place on June 13, 1739 by the Passau auxiliary bishop Anton Josef Graf von Lamberg.

The tower, which was rebuilt in 1819, was originally quite low, which is why it was significantly raised in 1889 and given a baroque helmet based on the model of the church in Pöchlarn.

The Minorite Church in Tulln, dating from 1739, is one of the most beautiful late Baroque churches in the country. The impressive side rooms, including the Loreto Chapel with the Black Madonna, the sacristy with a 17th-century shrine, the crypt, and the hermitage, have all remained unchanged to this day and give the church a unique charm. The church was dedicated to the Immaculate Virgin Mary and Saint John of Nepomuk.
During my visit, the priest pointed out the special features to me, free of charge. A warm welcome, thank you.
