The church can be visited daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is located high above the road between Rudkøbing and Spodsbjerg and, on clear days, offers views of the Langeland Belt and Lolland. Like many churches on Langeland, Longelse Church was originally built in the 13th century from rough boulders and with rectangular stone corners. And like many other churches, the porch and tower were added later. During the Renaissance, the tower was rebuilt, and the church ceiling was also vaulted. The tower was restored in 1830.
