In Cyprus you can choose your favourite beach from over 600 kilometres of coastline. There are more than 60 beaches on the Mediterranean island. What is particularly attractive here is the mix of velvety sandy beaches and the pebbled areas that can be found everywhere in the magical Cypriot bays. The most famous place by the sea, however, is certainly the so-called Aphrodite Rock east of Paphros. This is where the Cypriot national goddess Aphrodite is said to have given birth to the Mediterranean thousands of years ago.
