Cromwell's Tower or Clock Tower. The tower dates from the 18th century and is the last remaining part of the fort, which was built in 1652 during Cromwell's administration. The fort was demolished in 1660. The tower was removed from the list of protected monuments on 10 February 2003 as it was considered that its status as a category B listed building provided more appropriate protection.
