Train station, Plochingen am Neckar
The Plochingen train station in the lower part of the city was built between 1905 and 1907 by the famous architect Theodor Fischer in the Art Nouveau style. Opposite is the railway workers' settlement, also by Theodor Fischer, whose portals are decorated with beautiful Art Nouveau reliefs. The railway has provided numerous jobs in Plochingen since the last century. Plochingen was connected to the railway very early on - as early as 1846 - and became a railway junction as early as 1858. The Plochingen train station is the intersection point of important railway lines and also the connection point between the federal railway and the S-Bahn.
