Detached, medieval city gate, located west of Buiten Kruisvest and with varying destinations over time. Built as a city gate, later used as a caretaker's house and war history museum (until approximately 1988). There are now plans to permanently house the Open Monument Day youth project here.

The oldest Kruispoort was built near the second wall (1297-1304) and was replaced in 1366. Philip van Artevelde destroyed that gate when he took the city with the Gentenaars in 1382. Gate number three followed in 1400. Only the two heavy towers with their narrow passage and two octagonal turrets have been preserved. Charles V, Napoleon, the German army, they all walked into Bruges through this gate.
