The Refugio Mezzavia, in German Halbweghütte, is a hut with an attached restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the Mendel Pass. Here you can strengthen yourself and enjoy the view.

From the Mendel Pass at an altitude of about 1,350 m, it goes south (marker no. 500). It goes through the forest on the Kalterer Berg, where there are many huts of the Eppaner and Kalterer. Past the Enzianhütte. The forest provides pleasant shade. After about 4 kilometers you will reach the Halbweghütte.

Family business since 1959. We offer our guests homemade South Tyrolean and Trentino dishes. Cozy parlor, large sun terrace and children's playground. Reservations are welcome for groups. New: e-bike charging station. Opening times Easter to November, over the Christmas holidays and in winter on weekends, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. No day of rest.

The asphalt soon gives way to gravel - it goes through the forest on the Kalterer Berg, where many huts of the Eppan and Kalterer are located. Past the Enzianhütte. Great hut, nice seating on the terrace. We had a good time there. Extremely tasty food, there were fine bacon dumpling soups and trippa alla parmigiana for the men, the ladies had goulash with bacon dumplings and polenta.

Closed on Wednesdays.
