The picturesque remains of Bishop's Palace can be found alongside St David’s Cathedral. During the medieval period, this would have been the finest collection of buildings in Wales. Today, the ruins are a delightful place to explore.

The ruins of the Gothic Episcopal Palace lie across the river from the cathedral and provide a good backdrop for open-air theater performances in the summer. Bishop Henry de Gower's legacy consists of the simpler east wing (his private quarters) and the larger south wing built for banquets in the great hall.
