ハイキング
Frauenalb Abbey was founded around 1185 by the Counts of Eberstein as a Benedictine convent for noble nuns. Only women from noble families were admitted. Shortly after 1600, the last woman left the monastery. Today, a foundation oversees the preservation of this remarkable ruin.

Frauenalb is a monastery ruin in the upper Alb valley that is well worth seeing and is surrounded by a few houses. The Frauenalb monastery was founded around 1185 by the Counts of Eberstein as a noble Benedictine convent. Only women from noble families were accepted.

Beautiful ruin in the heart of the Alb valley, also accessible on a short excursion. From Herrenalb you walk about 1 hour to here on an easy path. There is a train stop directly below the ruins.
