The Brahms Promenade is a 3 km long public park in Tutzing on Lake Starnberg. In 1917, the municipality acquired the northern sea acres and designed today's promenade by 1926.
The place was dedicated to Brahms because he wrote three of his works in Tutzing. For children there is a beautiful playground right on the lake with a wonderful view of the Alpine panorama. The children's playground is an ideal stopover for a nice walk by the lake. The nearby restaurant with beer garden is ideal for a stop.

Be sure to pack your swimming trunks on hot days. There is a lawn for sunbathing and a boat rental for stand-up paddlers.

There is also a bust of Elly Ney here. She was a pianist and Beethoven interpreter. A Tutzinger since 1937.
She was a self-confessed supporter of so-called National Socialism and an anti-Semite. The Nazis promoted the lady vigorously.
A plaque commemorates this story and is intended to warn against allowing oneself to be taken over by totalitarian systems. Remarkable. The lady was apparently convinced of the inhuman ideas.

Beautiful for walking or hiking along the lake, the entire shore area is very well maintained with some seating to linger.
