There is a circumferential trail around the lake about 0.9 miles long. If you happen to have the AllTrails app as well as the komoot app, by hiking this trail on each app, you can get an AllTrails verified completed badge and two komoot hiking highlight badges; two birds with one stone (don't tell the komoot editors that I said this).
This lake is a lovely spot to stop for a picnic or spend the afternoon on a warm summer day. The boardwalk is a beautiful feature, and the park offers a pleasant path for walking or biking around the perimeter. There is ample parking and a playground on the north side, making it an ideal place for the family if you have small children.
