Antazavė heat battle, the battle of Lithuanian partisans and NKVD troops and stragglers on 12/27/1944 (according to other data, 12/26) in Antazavė township (Zarasu county).
A detachment of convicts (about 400 people) surrounded the Antazavės šile on 15.12.1944, equipped and well-fortified Loki's squad, which consisted of Dusetų (commander M. Kazanas), Antazavės (T. Sabaliauskas), Kriauņu (B. Galvonas) and Obeliai (J. Streikus) ) partisan units (about 80 people; commander M. Kazanas), a camp site. Guerrillas had 4 light machine guns, Punishers - heavy machine guns and mortars. After digging trenches and blocking the roads with uprooted trees, the partisans prepared for a circular defense and repelled two enemy attacks. In the evening, they retreated to the village of Saliniai after shooting through the encirclement rings. During the fighting, one partisan was killed, M. Kazan was wounded, and it is believed that about 20 NKVD soldiers and stragglers were killed.
