The Ottensheim-Wilhering power plant is a run-of-river power plant in the Danube between the two Upper Austrian municipalities of Ottensheim and Wilhering. This Austrian Danube power plant was built between 1970 and 1974.

Driving down the Danube, it is advisable to decide here whether you want to drive over the power plant or take the ferry (approx. 3.50 / p and bike) to Ottensheim a few kilometers later. Via the power plant, you can get past a competition route for rowers where a (junior?) World Cup took place in 2018.
In any case, you should switch to the north side at the latest from the ferry.
On the south side you drive into Linz without a bike lane on a busy, rather narrow main road. You miss the beautiful Rococo Wilhering Abbey.

The EuroVelo 6 and 7 Danube Cycle Path crosses the weir of the Ottensheim hydroelectric power station to the other side of the river. The weir makes the Danube even wider here.
