    There are people who are very lucky in their lives and others who keep struggling with difficulties. There are also houses that are simply lucky - they were built in a beautiful location with an excellent view. Klingenberg Castle is one of them. It sits ten kilometers northeast of Frauenfeld on the southern slopes of the Seerücken with an unobstructed view of the Alpstein and the Glarus Alps. And despite its stately home, the castle looks back on a difficult life.

    A little above there was a castle from the 13th century. It burned down in 1444 but was rebuilt. In addition, today's castle was built a little further down. In 1694 a gable wall collapsed in this, a year later the restored castle burned down completely. And it was to continue with fires - in the years 1722, 1732 and 1772. The original shape and size of the castle can still be guessed on old photo documents.
